A Call for Artists!

A call for artists…
Flat River Gallery & Framing is currently engaged in a call for artists and portfolio submissions for established and emerging artists to join our cooperative.

Do you want to be a part of a vibrant arts community in a charming destination village? Flat River Gallery & Framing, with approximately 2000 square feet space, is nestled near the beautiful Flat River at 219
West Main Street in historic Lowell, Michigan. Many of our artists have called this space ‘home’ for the past six years when it was a different gallery. Now, as a new artists’ cooperative, we have a member‐run Board of Directors and a number of members showing and working at the gallery. We currently show a range of classic to contemporary experimental art, hand‐crafted wood products and furniture, textiles, jewelry, clay and photography as well as refurbished upholstered vintage chairs. A working studio and framing center, we believe in providing quality art, custom framing expertise and exceptional customer service.

If you are an established or emerging fine artist or refined crafts person residing in the Greater Grand
Rapids, Michigan area, you are eligible to apply for membership. We ask that you be the sole originator of your work, the work is fresh, original, recent, handmade, and different from other work that is currently in our Gallery.

If you are interested in joining our cooperative, jurying takes place at our monthly meetings the first Thursday of each month. Prior to the meeting you will need to submit 4‐5 samples of your work and complete the attached application electronically to info@flatrivergalleryandframing.com. You will need to provide a description of your work, retail pricing for each item submitted, and a $5 jury fee. Please do not leave artwork at the gallery. Applications without photographs will not be considered.
